The excitement is mounting as we draw closer to the commencement of a tea revolution like never before. The Judges of the Dilmah Real High Tea Global Challenge 2015- Bernd Uber, Simon Gault, Peter Kuruvita and Dilhan C. Fernando along with Dilmah Founder Merrill J. Fernando and Malik Fernando conducted a media briefing for international media personalities, bloggers and foodies. They spoke of the significance of this challenge and why Dilmah has taken steps to ensure that we are in the forefront of all things tea- its natural goodness, its versatility in gastronomy and mixology and its luxurious indulgence as the beverage of the 21st Century.
Speaking about his mission in tea Dilmah Founder Merrill J. Fernando reiterated his commitment and his family's commitment to bring only the finest to consumers around the world. 'My heart and soul is in tea. Every pack of tea that goes from our factory goes with so much love and care'. He also mentioned the Dilmah philosophy of making business a matter of human service- 'real success is if you share even 1% of what you have with the needy. Then when you leave this world, you will leave it a better place'. Dilhan spoke of the tea revolution and the luxurious pleasure of tea with its natural goodness and relevance to a 21st century lifestyle. He explained the versatility of tea through a Ceylon Silver Tips cold brew which was a creation of Dilmah Tea Mixologist Robert Schinkel.
The judges each gave their first experience with Dilmah- Simon Gault and Peter Kuruvita spoke of their experience with the Chefs and the Teamaker programme and how tea has been revolutionised in their eyes. Bernd Uber spoke of his excitement and anticipation to witness the world's best teams vying for the coveted cup 'I am ready to experience new sensations on the palate'.
As the tea revolution revs up, our judges and media are eagerly awaiting the renaissance in tea and a tea inspired take on the traditional Afternoon Tea occasion.
