Bournemouth & Poole College, one of the WorldChefs approved culinary schools in the UK, conducted their first Dilmah Tea Inspiration Course on 1st June 2017. Claire Stanton, Restaurant Instructor of Hospitality & Catering at Bournemouth & Poole College, initiated the programme and conducted the lessons herself after being taught and certified at the Dilmah School of Tea in Sri Lanka earlier this year.

The Course Module included lessons on the history of tea, variety in the tea manufacturing process, terroir of tea, brewing a perfect cup of tea (practical exercise), tea & health, innovations in tea, tea and food pairing, tea gastronomy, and ethics in tea. The course was well received by all students.

Claire Stanton commented on the experience as “…a great success and the students found it to be both rewarding and enlightening. We will be running the course again next year all being well around the same time for the next level 3 graduating Specialised Chefs.”

The Dilmah School of Tea and all affiliated Dilmah tea courses is certified by WorldChefs and is the first and only WorldChefs certified Tea School.
