Press release and images on Asia gathers for The Fundamentals of Tea Inspiration at the Dilmah School of Tea Asia 2017 from Dilmah
Over 100 culinary and hospitality professional from Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines and Singapore gathered on 1st August 2017 in Indonesia at the Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort for “The Fundamentals of Tea Inspiration” at the regional 55th Dilmah School of Tea. Participants included representatives from Novotel Singapore Clarke Quay, Novotel Singapore on Stevens, Hilton Bali Resort, Hard Rock Hotel Bali, Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua, Meliá Bali Indonesia, The Legian Bali, The Ritz-Carlton Bali, AYANA Resort and Spa Bali, and InterContinental Bali Resort.
The modules introduced at the Dilmah School of Tea Asia covered; the history of tea, ethics in tea, manufacture and cultivation of tea, tea & food pairing, tea & health, tea & cheese, how to brew the perfect cup of tea, live tea mixology with a team challenge, and profiling of tea. Sumi Adnyana, Food & Beverage Manager of Sanur Paradise Plaza Hotel & Suites, and 55th Dilmah School of Tea participant said that, “It was a very beneficial training for me and also for my staff to know more about tea with intricate tea knowledge, tea pairing and tea mixology.”
The resource leaders included Dilhan C. Fernando – teamaker and son of Dilmah founder Merrill J. Fernando, Edwin Soon – Sensory Analyst and Wine Author, Robert Schinkel – award winning mixologist and Dilmah ambassador, and Andi Yoga – winner of the 3rd Dilmah Tea Mixology Playoff and bartender from J. W. Marriott Surabaya. Another School of Tea participant, Daniel Januar Priambodo, Food & Beverage Manager at Java Paragon Hotel & Residences Surabaya, commented on his experience and said that it was, “Simply Inspiring! Going to conduct internal training for the Head of Department in Corporate next month… we are going to have your product as brand standard in all properties.”
